How the course is delivered
The Backsafe Train the Trainer Program combines self-paced learning with live expert-led coaching sessions to apply the Backsafe principles to a range of tasks and scenarios relevant to your own workplace.
Delivery can be online or onsite, depending on your organisation’s size and risk profile:
- Online delivery is ideal for organisations training fewer than six staff
- Onsite delivery is recommended for organisations training six or more staff, or those operating in higher-risk environments

Core knowledge and practical competency are assessed through a combination of learning, workplace application and demonstration of training capability. Each participant is required to
- complete online learning
- attend two live online training workshops

Your Trainers
Peter Broadbent has been working in the safety training sector for over 35 years working with some of the largest organisation in Australia and overseas. During this time Peter developed Backsafe which is a proactive injury prevention training program which has now been delivered to tens of thousands of employees in a range of different industries with a range of different job tasks.
Peter has trained carers from the healthcare, aged care and disability sectors so that they become aware of their body position and health implications whether they are caring for adult patients in the home, hospital or healthcare facilities and child and adult clients in residential care and disability facilities.
Peter’s goal is to reduce the incidence and severity of musculoskeletal injuries resulting from manual handling hazards when lifting and moving materials, equipment and transferring people.
